2:55 PM
Blackberry is probably struggling with its Smartphones, but the company shows its interest to contribute to other platforms like iOS and Android. Rumor says that Blackberry would extend security feature to Android and iOS. The company is rumored to be creating a new technology for separating and securing personal data and work on mobile devices.

Blacberry to release Secure Work Space

The technology is expected to be powered by Android and iOS platforms. This new feature is made in the hope of selling services to enterprise clients. It also let the employees to use other Smartphones than Blackberry. This is a crucial point because the company has experienced a lot of loss in the past year. Analyst Peter Misek said that this will probably be a smart move from Blackberry to attract attention this 2013. He added that the management software created by Blackberry aimed to boost sales for the following year.

Blackberry would extend security feature to Android and iOS, and this is a smart move since security has become a big issue lately. This may give a positive impact to Blackberry mainly related to its profitable services. For just a reminder, in last December the Blackberry's shares tumbled after a rumor surfaced that the company will change the way to charge services. It is said that Blackberry would cut fees for customers who don’t need the features such as security feature. We can expect this new Secure Work Space will be released around June or earlier. The service will be managed using BB 10, a service recently launched by Blackberry. The company said that the feature will shield a variety of important apps such as calendar, contacts, email, web browsing, etc.

While Blackberry is ready to extend security features to Android and iOS, Blackberry 10 has been around for quite awhile now. The touch screen version has hit more than twenty countries. A new Smartphone called the Q10 to be released around April, coming with Blackberry's keyboard signature. There is a feature called Balance in all these new devices. It serves to separate personal data and corporate. The feature allows the corporate content managed safely by technology departments, meaning better privacy provided to the user.
