Android 4.2.2 is Being Tested for the Galaxy Nexus!

6:48 AM
The recent news said that Android 4.2.2 is being tested for the Galaxy Nexus. For those who can’t wait to see this latest version of Android Jelly Bean on the Galaxy Nexus, please be patient. In the next few weeks we might be able to get the latest update from the Jelly Bean is the Galaxy Nexus. This is the first time that Verizon missed 3 Android updates for the Nexus Smartphone. The question comes up on why the company held back the Android updates for the device. Some opinions surfaced relating to the reason why Verizon held back a few updates. One of the opinions said that Verizon would refuse updates for the Galaxy Nexus as long as Google Wallet removed from each update. This makes the company do its own modifications so that Google Wallet doesn’t appear on its devices. The news that Android 4.2.2 is being tested for the Galaxy Nexus is certainly encouraging for those who are waiting for the latest update of the Jelly Bean.

This makes us wonder why Verizon rejected Google Wallet when it’s one of Google’s flagship features. Rumor has it that the company thought that the application wasn’t secure enough  and didn’t provide good privacy controls. Besides, the standard for transactions was also considered not good. It then makes us curious about how the application actually works. The application is an NFC-based mobile payment. Verizon argued that it can provide better security because it is integrated with LTE SIM for ISIS. The technology is claimed more secure than techniques used by Google with the cloud-based system.

Another reason why Verizon seemed reluctant to use Google Wallet is there were a lot of bugs and on the latest updates that need to be fixed as soon as possible. This is confirmed by the number of complaints coming from users. They said that there were problems in Jelly Bean 4.1 and 4.2. Several bugs were found include the absence of month on the calendar, connection and stability issues. Android 4.2.2 is being tested for the Galaxy Nexus, and we may enjoy it soon when the bugs have been resolved. But this still doesn’t answer why Verizon missed 3 Jelly Bean updates. It’s still a big question because there is no official confirmation from the company.

We may have not received any official information, but at least this is positive news for all the Nexus 7 users. Many hoped that when the problem is resolved, Verizon re-embraces the device after the discontinuation. This would likely be the last update on the handset. It’s time to end the problem between Verizon and Google because many users are happy with the Nexus 7 Android Smartphone.
